Who we are

Vakeel Junction (“we”, “us”) is a legal consultancy with chambers at 13 Das Nagar, Jodhpur Park, Kolkata, West Bengal 700045, India. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@vakeeljunction.com or +91 78386 89170.

What we collect

We collect only what you give us, and only when you choose to give it:

  • Callback and contact forms — your name, phone number, email (if provided), the type of matter and the description you write.
  • Newsletter — your email address.
  • WhatsApp, phone and email — whatever you share with us through those channels.
  • Technical data — our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to keep the site secure and available. We do not run advertising or tracking scripts.

Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and, if you engage us, to provide legal and compliance services.
  • To send the newsletter you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To keep records we are required to keep as advocates and under Indian law.
  • To protect the website against abuse (for example, limiting repeated form submissions).

Lawful basis and consent

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, which you give when you submit a form, subscribe, or write to us for a specified purpose. Where we act for you as advocates, we also process data as necessary to perform that engagement and to meet our professional obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to info@vakeeljunction.com; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with:

  • the advocates, associates and staff of Vakeel Junction working on your enquiry or matter;
  • service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions — such as our website hosting, database and email providers;
  • courts, tribunals, regulators or authorities where required for your matter or by law.

Storage and retention

Form submissions are stored in a secured database accessible only to authorised members of the firm. We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to respond to you and, if you become a client, for the period we are required to retain client records under applicable rules. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. We apply reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and regular backups.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage for two essential purposes only: to remember that you acknowledged the Bar Council disclaimer, and to remember simple display preferences. You can clear these at any time from your browser settings.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to:

  • access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
  • have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, and data that is no longer needed erased;
  • withdraw consent you have given;
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity;
  • raise a grievance with us and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, write to our grievance officer at info@vakeeljunction.com. We aim to respond within the time required by law.

Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the law or our services change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the revised policy.

This is a draft prepared for Vakeel Junction. Have it reviewed by counsel before publishing.
